High efficiency electrical transformer database

The EU Directive 2009/125/CE of 21st October 2009 establishes a framework for the setting of ecodesign requirements for energy-related products.

The energy efficiency improvement through the ecodesign products with lower environmental impact is a crucial factor in the Community strategy on Integrated Product Policy to the achievement of the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions targets in the Community.

Within the implementing measures of the Directive has been issued the Regulation EU 548/2014 of May 21st 2014 that establishes the way the Directive 2009/125/CE is enforced with regard to small, medium and large power transformers. In particular the Regulation establishes the maximum allowed load and no-load losses of power transformers with regard to rated power and with reference to the placing on the market for which there have been established two tiers: 1st July 2015 and 1st July 2021.

The ENEA ANIE Energia website represents an important instrument to help the operators to discover power transformers in compliance with the Regulation 548/2014.
